JEAN-PHILIPPE COLLARD (piano, France)
Programme: CLAUDE DEBUSSY -“Preludes” book I, L 117; MAURICE RAVEL - “Pavane pour une infante defunte” M 19; “Valses nobles et sentimentales” M 61; OLIVIER MESSIAEN - “Le baiser de l'Enfant-Jésus” and “Regard de l'Espirit de joie” from “Vingt Regards sur l'Enfant-Jésus”
Even though Jean-Philippe Collard's name sounds as French as the name of his native Mareuil-sur-Ay (Champagne-Ardenne region) and critics and his aficionados consider him the maitre of French piano school, the pianist himself proudly claims that his repertoire is not conditioned by any geographical limits. Having dedicated substantial part of his life to the French piano repertoire, he now turns his attention to Haydn, Mozart, Brahms, Liszt, Prokofiev and Rachmaninov for whose interpretation he earns accolades internationally. And yet, to Vilnius he brings French programme featuring three French piano greats.
Concert sponsored by the French Cultural Centre and “Vilniaus energija” UAB.
