Funeral for a friend will perform in Riga in March

The Welsh post-hardcore band Funeral for a Friend will perform at the Palladium Riga concert hall on March 24th. Having recorded compositions ranging from hardcore punk, to heavy metal and melodic hardcore, Funeral for a Friend are considered one of the pillars of modern Welsh punk music.

Once dubbed the “ordinary heroes of rock”, Funeral for a Friend are a Welsh post-hardcore band from Bridgend. Their musical styles include, but are not limited to, post hardcore, heavy metal, melodic hardcore and screamo. Bands such as Deftones, Iron Maiden, The Misfits and The Get Up Kids have been said to be their primary influences.

Widely popular in the UK, Funeral for a Friend can boast several critically acclaimed albums, with their debut album "Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation" (2003) receiving a 8/10 rating from the New Music Express (NME) and earning them both a gold certification and three top twenty singles in Wales.
Their two following albums "Hours" (2005) and "Tales Don't Tell Themselves" (2007), distinguishable for their melodic interplay and sincere lyricism, secured the band further notice and recognition, including gold and silver sales certificates in Britain. "Memory and Humanity" (2008) explored more anthemic elements of their style. The band eventually returned to their hardcore punk influenced style in their latest album "Welcome Home Armageddon" (2011). Funeral for a Friend will release their sixth studio album “Conduit” in January 2013.

Funeral for a Friend consist of lead vocalist Matthew Davies-Kreye, guitarists Kris Coombs-Roberts and Gavin Burrough, bassist Richard Boucher and drummer Pat Lundy.
