(Atšauktas) Operos solistės Asmik Grigorian koncertas

Su 10/12/2017 18:00
Vaidilos teatras, Vilnius
ASMIK GRIGORIAN (soprano)

Singing apparently wasn’t the most important part of daily routine for soprano Asmik Grigorian (b. 1981) during her school years as she studied piano and choral conducting before taking up vocal classes with her mother, a famous Lithuanian soprano Irena Milkevičiūtė. Asmik’s choice has since proved irrevocable and she continued studying with her father, Armenian tenor Geham Grigorian, and later with Lithuanian bass Vladimiras Prudnikovas, Georgian tenor Badri Maisuradze, and Italian soprano Mirella Freni.
Asmik took part in numerous opera productions in Lithuania and abroad. She is a double winner of the Golden Cross of the Stage Award, the most prestigious prize in Lithuanian performing arts. Her Violetta in La Traviata by Verdi earned Asmik the first trophy in 2005 when she was named the best female opera debutant. She took her second Golden Cross in 2010 as Mrs. Lovett in Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd.
A sought-after soprano in numerous theatres and festivals around Europe and beyond, she collected the International Opera Award in 2016 as the best young female singer.
Earlier this year, Asmik was invited to Covent Garden to sing lead parts in Madama Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini and Jenůfa by Leoš Janáček.

FELIKSAS ZAKREVSKIS (piano)

After first touching the keys at the age of five, pianist Feliksas Zakrevskis chose a career of professional musician by joining the Balys Dvarionas Music School in Vilnius and then continuing studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. As a member of a band lead by Vladimiras Čekasinas, one of the country’s jazz legends, he took part in festivals in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, and Lithuania.
A student of Čekasinas and Olegas Molokojedovas, another well known jazz pianist, Feliksas is a versatile performer but still considers jazz his greatest love in music. In 1996 he was awarded special prize at the jazz improvisation competition for pianists in Vilnius. He is a member of the Vytautas Labutis Jazz Quartet and 4Tango, a band whose musical aspirations reach beyond Latin American music.
In addition to that, Feliksas plays recitals and has received critical acclaim for his part in musical projects with distinguished Lithuanian singers Ieva Prudnikovaitė, Asmik Grigorian, and Jeronimas Milius.
