ANDREY BARANOV

Prize-winner at more than twenty international violin contests around the world, including the first prize at the Queen Elisabeth Violin Competition in 2012, Andrey Baranov is known as a solo performer and a member of the David Oistrakh String Quartet.
Born in 1986 in St. Petersburg, Andrey took his first violin lessons at the age of five. He finished the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in his native city before moving to study at the Conservatoire de Lausanne with Pierre Amoyal.
The year 2005 saw his major stage debut in St. Petersburg where he played with the Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vasily Petrenko. More recitals followed, including performances at some of the world’s most prestigious venues, such as Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Mozarteum in Vienna, the Cadogan Hall in London, Gewandhaus Leipzig, and Konzerthaus Berlin.
Andrey has played with a number of top-class orchestras, such as Vienna Symphony, and has shared stage with world-famous musicians, including Martha Argerich and Julian Rachlin.
In 2009, aged only 23, he was appointed teaching assistant to Pierre Amoyal at the Conservatoire de Lausanne and has since given a number of master classes in Bangkok, Chicago, Riga, Vilnius, Stockholm, Manchester etc.

VYTIS ŠAKŪRAS

Born in 1978 into the family of musicians in Vilnius, as a pianist he has crisscrossed Lithuania and travelled many European countries and Japan. He has won prizes in several international competitions and festivals.
After studying piano in Vilnius and Frankfurt, he took a course in chamber music with the Alban Berg Quartet in Cologne. Later on, he participated in a number of master classes led by well-known pianists, such as Bernard Ringeissen, Igor Lazko, Leon Fleisher, and Malcolm Bilson.
He regularly takes part in different musical events hosted by the Frankfurt Opera. He has been a member of the Copenhagen Festival Ensemble since 2013. He appeared in a number of prestigious projects throughout Europe, the most recent being the Grieg in Bergen Festival in Norway and the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad, Switzerland.
