Indian Classical Music and Dance Concert

The golden autumn this year delights the inhabitants of Lavia not only with its unusual warmth but also with a wide range of cultural events. One of the most unique November offerings is the Indian Classical Music and Dance Concert SAMAGAMA, which is planned for 03 November in evening at 18.00 on address: Skolēnu pils (Street Kr. Barona 99). During this program people will enjoy Indian classical (LIVE) music and Indian classic dance performances by two world famous artists so called as great magnets. It is said about Indian classical music and dance that it has the power to educate, inspire, evoke and enlighten a human soul. This year, with Exotic Indian food, drinks & hot beverages will delight us “Singhš” Restaurant (chain) in Latvia! They will be catering before, during and after this concert. Also they will be catering upcoming Biggest Asian Festival in Baltic’s: Diwali Mela/Indian New Year (11 Nov 18 in famous Rigas Congress Hall) where they will serve large variety of Indian sweets and delicious Indian food which you can try on spot and also take exotic food as gifts for your relatives.  This will be a celebration for your whole family!

Sh. Subrata De will be represented during this Indian classical LIVE music concert. He is the most promising name in Sitar today. A sitarist from Bishnupur Gharana, Mr. Dey has not only earned his reputation as a performer, but as a cultural ambassador of India, propagating Indian culture in its purest form all over the world. He also works for cultural exchanges between India and foreign countries through concerts (worldwide), lecture demonstrations and facilitating exchange programmes. He is also looked up to by young artists for getting suitable opportunities and mentoring to showcase their talents at appropriate stages.

The classical Indian dance bharatanatyam will be presented by best Indian dancer visiting Latvia & Baltic’s for first time).  Vidhushi Veena Chikkanahalli Seshadri , Founder Director of Kala Sampada, kendra for Fine arts, enshrines the philosophy of Indian culture and takes keen interest in preserving promoting Indian classical dance in its pure form.

Vidhushi Veena C Seshadri ‘s Dance is spontaneous expression of powerful emotions and deep knowledge of the dance. Her style retains the depth, resonance and sensitivity of Bhava Raaga Taala as well as laying stress on the subtle and lilting phrasing of dance compositions. Through this combination, she brings to perfection the delicacy and sentimental mood of every Raasa. She is a master of improvisation and possesses the rare ability to breathe life and originality into a classical theme traditionally, thereby moulding it into a living and captivating form.

Vidhushi Smt. Veena Chikkanahalli Seshadri has training from the world renowned Kalakshetra college of fine arts, Chennai and MFA from Bharathidasan University . She is an ICCR empanelled Bharatnatyam Artist ,enlisted at FOI Cell and Zonal cultural Center under Ministry of Culture,Govt of India, and A grade artist from Delhi Doordarshan , also member of CID UNESCO as a Bharatanatyam dancer.

She has had the opportunity to conduct workshops, lecture demonstration and give solo performance at many International and National prestigious festivals in India and abroad. Sringeri Vidya Bharthi Foundation- Stroudsburg, USA, Sadhana International Yoga and Art Festival Beijing- China, International Cultural Festival,ICC Bangkok Thailand , Sharjaha, Spain, Germany, Dubai, Doha, UK, Zurich, Milan Italy are to name a few. She is a recipient of awards Nrutyashree, Natya Mayuri ,Yoga Kala Nidhi.

Kala Sampada, is a pioneer institute in Southern India for holistic development through Indian art and culture. More then 250 students are trained in Bharatanatyam dance under her guidance.
The concert will be entertaining both for lovers of classical Indian Music & Dance which gives very rejuvenating effect on the body, peace to mind and prosperity.
