BRITISH BAND THE 1975 WILL FILL TALLINN WITH THEIR NEW SOUND

Fresh from their incredible headline slot at Reading and Leeds Festivals, THE 1975 have announced Europe tour extension coming in 2020. See the Grammy award nominees at Saku Suurhall blackbox on October 26th. The popular British band will be in town to perform tracks from their newest album ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’, as well as fans favourites from band’s previous records.

You've heard their songs. You’ve seen your favorite artists tweet about them. The British pop-rock phenoms have spent much of the decade growing in size and stature. If you thought the 1975-fest was over, you’ve got another thing coming. “Arguably the biggest band in the world right now” – NME. Matty Healy and co. are preparing for a fourth full-length release in  2020. Band’s new studio record “Notes on a Conditional Form”, which follows “A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships” (2018) is the second of two albums from their release cycle "Music for Cars". They teased the upcoming release in the tradition of the band’s previous album openers, with a track titled “The 1975.” It’s a four-minute speech from 16-year-old Swedish activist Greta Thunberg that preaches action for our society’s present climate emergency. People have found a voice within The 1975. That comes with pressure to speak up, to become a spokesperson.

The first  official single from their new record is an explosive angsty track ‘People’ – an in-your-face punk anthem calling out for everyone to take action against climate change. “There’s not enough time for the universe”, frontman Matty Healy declares, as he uses his platform to shout about the shocking impact of climate devastation. The band aren’t shy when it comes to political statements – with hit track ‘Loving Someone’ quickly becoming a pride anthem across the world.

The 1975 was formed in 2002 and consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matthew Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel. But before they became one of the most important bands, they always believed in themselves. And people found themselves in that. It’s why the connection between band and crowd is so electrifying. It feels like the lead vocalist Matty is talking directly to each and every person. Just like he’s always done. “Touring is almost the foundation for my life now,” explains Matty. “I get to go out most nights and see thousands of people who want to come and see us, so that’s incredibly humbling and rewarding.” With Matty’s iconic treadmill, groove-fuelled dancing and constant interaction with the crowd, their performance will make for an unforgettable and intimate show.
