The year 2026 is a special one for the entire jazz world. We are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the legendary trumpeter Miles Davis, and the program prepared for this occasion will transport you to the magical sound of Miles Davis’s early years!
Miles Davis was one of the most influential jazz trumpeters and musical innovators of the 20th century. He constantly reinvented his sound and contributed to the emergence of several jazz styles — from bebop and cool jazz to modal jazz and electric fusion. Davis was known not only for his masterful playing but also for his ability to gather the most talented musicians around him and boldly break traditions. Miles Davis’s playing style was exceptionally restrained, elegant, and full of deliberate minimalism. He often chose to play only a few notes, but each one was carefully considered and emotionally precise.
In this concert, you will hear Miles Davis’s music as it sounded before his major turn into the world of electric fusion jazz: from the warm, elegant sound of Birth of the Cool to the iconic Kind of Blue and the stunning energy of the acoustic trio. This is the music that secured Miles’s place in music history and continues to captivate millions of listeners around the world.
