Monika Neverauskaitė (Lithuania) | The Onion TechniqueBlack box version Premiere

Company / Artist: Was Ist Das and Jörg Müller (Germany)
Title: Mobile
Duration: 20 minutes
Audience: All ages

Description:
Mobile is a poetic and hypnotic performance balancing juggling, movement, and sound. Five long metal tubes float in space, becoming both partners and instruments in a delicate, ever-changing choreography.

In a continuous dialogue with these objects, Jörg Müller sets them in motion—swinging, colliding, and resonating like a giant glockenspiel. At times playful and light, at others intense and storm-like, the performance unfolds as a living composition of rhythm, movement, and silence.

Mobile is a timeless piece of contemporary circus, celebrated for its simplicity, precision, and quiet beauty.

Title: The Onion Technique
Duration: ~35 minutes
Audience: not specified

Premiere:
Presented as a black box version – one of the developing formats of the performance. The project is still in progress and will continue to evolve, adapting to different spaces and formats.

Description:
The Onion Technique draws on the metaphor of peeling an onion—a process of revealing the self layer by layer. Inspired by psychological approaches to identity, the performance explores what remains when we shed external roles, expectations, and masks.

Through the movement of a Cyr wheel, the gradual removal of costumes, and the presence of bodies in transformation, the piece unfolds as a visual and physical journey toward authenticity. It raises questions about freedom: is it something we long for and embrace, or something unknown and unsettling?

Balancing vulnerability and strength, the performance invites the audience to move closer to the core of the self—and ultimately, to accept it with openness.

Creative team:
