Šokio spektakliai: SELAM (Marokas) ir QUATRE TROIS (Prancūzija) | Urban Essentials '25
Dance Performance: SELAM
Company: Cie Chara (Morocco)
The International HIP HOP dance festival Urban Essentials presents SELAM – a travelling performance for public space by company CIE CHARA.
SELAM is a short length production that brings the city of Casablanca into the public space of Vilnius, combining the participatory and spectacular elements of urban dance with Moroccan culture and the intimate atmosphere of the theater stage.
Four dancers take over the public space, greeting each other, staying or deciding to
leave. Moroccan gestures and codes invade the public space and transform local places with new meanings.
The dancers become creatures and characters, mingling on the ground, slowly, gently, or exploding with energy as they spin to hip-hop rhythms and form a cypher. They hold each other back in a race for motion, merging individual breakdance moves with traditional and ritualistic Moroccan dances, gestures, and signs. In the end, they leave the audience with a new understanding of the city of Casablanca and Moroccan culture.
SELAM is a participatory performance created for public spaces. The performance will take place in the area of a newly developed LMTA student campus in different locations and inside, each with a different atmosphere, environment, and space. SELAM guides the audience through the city, but also invites them to participate in the performance. The dancers invite the audience to walk with them from one location to another.

Dance Performance: QUATRE TROIS
Company: As Compagnie (France)
The HIP-HOP dance festival Urban Essentials presents Andrège Bidiamambu and Seren Kano debut piece QUATRE TROIS.
In this work, they take Locking beyond its usual setting of battles, practices and showcases, focusing instead on its core elements – groove, rhythm, and technique.
They experiment with the form as a shared language, turning their movement into a live conversation between themselves and the audience. The result is a stripped-down, personal, and deeply expressive reimagining of Locking as a communicative artform.
Choreography and performance: Andrège Bidiamambu, Seren Kano.
Time: 19:30.
