FESTIVALIS NESSUN DORMA... NIEKAS NEMIEGA

Th 2026-06-18 - Fr 2026-08-28

NESSUN DORMA is a summer-long Night Concert Marathon presented by the Lithuanian Musicians’ Union in the intimate setting of Muzikos svetainė (Music Salon) in Vilnius.

For the third consecutive summer, audiences are invited to experience a unique series of late-evening concerts that bring together performers of different generations, styles and musical traditions. Each festival evening unfolds as a journey through two artistic worlds: a live concert followed by the Media Opera ČIURLIONIS: I SEE MUSIC.

The tradition of concert marathons has deep roots within the Lithuanian Musicians’ Union. In 1997, it organised Lithuania’s first academic music marathon, The Great Musicians’ Parade, which lasted ten hours and was officially recognised by the Lithuanian Book of Records. While today’s marathons are shorter, their purpose remains unchanged: to introduce audiences to outstanding performers and to foster a living musical community.

Held in the warm and welcoming atmosphere of Muzikos svetainė, the concerts offer a rare opportunity to experience music without distance between performer and listener. Conversations, questions and personal encounters become a natural part of the evening. The unique atmosphere is enriched by the memorial grand piano of the legendary conductor Saulius Sondeckis, the hall’s excellent acoustics and the intimacy of the space itself.

Each festival evening consists of two parts:

9:00 PM – Concert
10:30 PM – Media Opera ČIURLIONIS: I SEE MUSIC

Media Opera ČIURLIONIS: I SEE MUSIC is a unique genre developed by composer Audronė Žigaitytė, combining music, visual art, animation and digital media in a fully programmed operatic experience.

This season’s performers include pianist Vincenzo De Martino, soprano Charlotte Kilsch and pianist Irma Kilsch, jazz artists Veronika ChiChi and Dmitrij Golovanov, pianists Šviesė Čepliauskaitė, Vaida Kirvelytė and Monika Dars, violinist Karolina Beinarytė and pianist Daiva Stulgytė, as well as guitarist Saulius Jegelevičius and pianist Giedrė Gabnytė.

Following each concert, audiences are invited to enter the imaginative world of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis through the Media Opera ČIURLIONIS: I SEE MUSIC – a journey where sound becomes colour and colour becomes music.

NESSUN DORMA. Evening Music. Night Visions.

When the city begins to grow quiet, music comes alive in Muzikos svetainė. And when the concert comes to an end, the world of Čiurlionis opens before the audience – a world where music can not only be heard, but also seen.
