Programme: Piano music from different eras

The traditions of the Italian piano school will come to life through the performances of pianist Vsevolod Dvorkin and two of his students – the young Italian pianists Matteo Balboni and Samuele Migliaccio. The concert will reveal different stages of artistic maturity in piano performance, while the appearances of teacher and students will offer audiences a vivid musical dialogue, demonstrating how artistic tradition is passed from one generation to the next.

Having made his debut with the Ulyanovsk Symphony Orchestra at the age of fourteen, Vsevolod Dvorkin studied at the Gnessin Special Music School and the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, later continuing his education at the Imola Piano Academy and the Milan Conservatory. His teachers included distinguished pianists Natalia Trull, Lazar Berman, Vera Gornostayeva, and Vincenzo Balzani.

For many years, Vsevolod Dvorkin’s life and professional career have been closely connected with Italy. He is a piano professor at the Vecchi–Tonelli Conservatory of Modena and Carpi, and also teaches at the European Academy of Music in Erba and the Accademia del Talento in Desio. Many of his students have become prizewinners of international piano competitions and have launched successful concert careers.

As both a soloist and chamber musician, Dvorkin performs extensively, gives masterclasses, participates in international festivals, and regularly serves on the juries of international piano competitions. In Italy, he appears with prestigious concert organisations, performs at the Cortona Piano Festival, and takes part in numerous other musical projects. His interpretations are admired for their intellectual depth, technical brilliance, and rich palette of tonal colours.

Joining Professor Dvorkin at the Music Hall will be two of his students. Matteo Balboni studies piano in Italy and performs both as a soloist and as a member of various chamber ensembles. Samuele Migliaccio represents the new generation of Italian pianists and is currently refining his artistic skills in Vsevolod Dvorkin’s piano class.

The evening’s programme will present piano music from different eras and styles. All three pianists will perform solo works, allowing the audience to discover their individual artistic personalities while experiencing the shared musical understanding that unites teacher and students.

After the concert, the audience is invited to stay for the multimedia opera ČIURLIONIS: I SEE MUSIC, extending the evening with a unique artistic experience in which sound becomes colour and colour becomes music.
