Silvester Belt opens the door to his inner world: debut album “Sprigtas” premieres
Silvester Belt opens the doors to his inner world – today marks the release of his debut album “Sprigtas”. Across ten tracks, listeners will discover not only his recognizable sound but also previously unheard, more vulnerable sides of the artist. It is a musical attempt to make sense of reality – now available on all streaming platforms.
“I always wanted my first album to be as diverse as possible and to show more sides of me. I think I managed to reveal both the more sensitive and deeper layers, as well as the playful or rougher ones,” says the artist.
The album’s title was not chosen by accident. According to Silvester Belt, it is a metaphor for a sudden and sometimes painful столкновение with reality. “It’s that moment when your safe inner world collides with the harshness outside. Just when you start to feel comfortable with yourself, life gives you that ‘snap on the forehead’ – as if to say: go back, be ‘normal’ like everyone else.”
Themes of dreams, space, and escape are strongly present throughout the album. Songs like “Sleeping Bodies” and “My Planets” create alternative realities where there is more control than in the real world. The artist relates this feeling to the concept of anemoia – nostalgia for places or experiences you’ve never actually lived through, yet still long for. “It’s like a fantasy we create ourselves, pieced together from our surroundings, stories, and images we’ve seen,” he explains.
One of the standout tracks, “Sleeping Bodies”, explores the idea of escaping into an inner world and the difficulty of returning to reality. The song is inspired by the state of lucid dreaming – when you realize you can control your dream. “It’s a safe, controlled space, and letting go of it when returning to reality is incredibly hard. Sometimes you realize that your illusion feels closer than reality itself,” says Silvester.
The album revolves around themes of loneliness and self-discovery. However, these emotions are not necessarily dark – they become a shared narrative that connects people. “Loneliness is something that unites us all. Over time, it feels less dark to me – more like a space where you can better understand yourself.”
Musically, “Sprigtas” is melancholic, yet not heavy – rather atmospheric. Speaking about his creative process, Silvester reveals that everything starts with a mood, guided by sound.
While the entire album is deeply personal, the title track “Sprigtas” holds a particularly special place. The song reflects moments from his life, including experiences of bullying at school, where he was mocked even while performing on stage. It also touches on the idea of striving for something meaningful, only to be brought back by life’s “snaps” – lessons that must be learned along the way. “Sprigtas” becomes a bridge between the child who was afraid of himself and his surroundings, and the artist who today is no longer afraid to admit that it hurts.
The album marks an important milestone in Silvester Belt’s career – a starting point for a new creative chapter. He explains that the final lines of the last track, “Synthetic God” – “this is just the beginning, I’m already breathing in a new rhythm” – symbolize moving forward. “In creative work, once you release a project into the world, it already becomes your past. I put my previous experiences into this album as I understood them at the time. Now I’m entering a new phase, continuing to explore where music can take me,” he says.
“Sprigtas” was created in collaboration with nearly ten creatives during writing camps and studio sessions. Silvester Belt emphasizes how grateful he is to work among talented authors, producers, and musicians: “These people helped me shape every detail, and I hope they will continue to do so. In the end, it’s those details that build the small world listeners step into.”
