Palanga Becomes the Capital of Motorsport Again: Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook Returns
From July 16–18, Palanga will once again host one of the largest and most anticipated motorsport events in the Baltic region – Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook. Celebrating its 27th edition, the event attracts thousands of motorsport enthusiasts every year, transforming the Klaipėda–Palanga–Kretinga highway junction into a world-class racing venue for three unforgettable days.
The highlight of the festival is the legendary 1006-kilometre endurance race, where top teams and high-performance racing cars battle for victory. However, Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook has long grown beyond a traditional race weekend. Visitors can expect a packed program featuring competitions, exhibitions, entertainment, fan activities, interactive experiences, and attractions for the whole family.
The action begins on Thursday with the traditional parade of race cars through the streets of Palanga, followed by sprint races and the first practice sessions on the circuit. Later in the day, drag racing takes centre stage, delivering plenty of speed and excitement for spectators.
Friday is one of the busiest days of the festival. Alongside various entertainment activities, visitors can enjoy the Women’s Challenge, mechanics’ running races, spectator slalom competitions, and the crucial qualifying sessions that determine the starting grid for Saturday’s main event.
Saturday marks the grand finale. Before the race start, selected ticket holders will have the opportunity to join the exclusive GRID WALK experience and get up close to the race cars and teams just minutes before the green flag. Throughout the day, the event village will host the popular dB Drag sound competition, the impressive Memel Motor Fest car exhibition, and numerous other attractions. The evening concludes with the finish of the legendary endurance race and the awards ceremony.
Visitors can choose from a variety of ticket options, including one-day and three-day passes, as well as VIP experiences offering exclusive access to premium viewing areas, paddock zones, PIT WALK and GRID WALK activities, and behind-the-scenes opportunities normally reserved for teams and insiders.
For nearly three decades, Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook has been much more than a race. It has become a celebration of speed, technology, passion, and motorsport culture, attracting competitors and fans from across Europe.
